Robotics and autonomous system design and evaluation services.
Services Overview
Specializing in research partnerships and analysis of autonomous systems specification, integration, and verification problems. Supporting all types of autonomous systems and components at all levels of abstraction, targeted to any environments and tasks.
Primarily remote services; in-person services only by special arrangement.
Consulting Services
- Experiment design and evaluation metric recommendations
- Recommendations for metrics and changes to system behavior designs/specification/verification processes
- Identification of fault management integration considerations for autonomous systems
- Recommendations for improved fault management system design
Research Services
- System behavior and task specification
- Identification and support in selecting behavior, task, environment, and metric elements that could be used to drive and evaluate behavior
- Analysis to discover and document undocumented assumptions being made at each operational and design stage by each behavior component; assessment and recommendations for (where possible) resolution of conflicts and assurance gaps created as a result of assumptions and assumption violations
- Analysis to identify and document tradeoffs, including alternatives considered, why each was accepted or rejected, and what specific triggering criteria should drive a change in the best course of action
- Root cause analysis: discovery of causes of emergent or unexpected behavior; fault management design
- Training on how to use standards IEEE 1872.1 and 2817 to improve autonomous system integration and operation, behavior design, and effectiveness
About
Mission Statement: Helping autonomous system developers, users, and testers understand precisely what the system is supposed to do under what conditions, and what it will actually do when deployed.
Robotistry is a Canadian-owned company based north of Halifax, Nova Scotia with extensive ties to the international research and military communities.
We have over 20 years experience working for the US Department of Defense, with recognized expertise in both the military autonomous systems research community and in the autonomous systems evaluation and verification communities. Past work includes autonomous system specification and fault management and payload mission manager development for autonomous spacecraft, autonomous system architecture and behavior development for maritime systems, and task specification for in-home care robots.
